Mig Murphy Sistrom, CPA, Principal

  • Background in public accounting at a “Big Four” accounting firm, a large local firm, as a sole practitioner, and ultimately (since 2002) as owner of a small firm.
  • Served as Director of Finance and Administration for a nonprofit organization with annual budget in excess of $10 million.
  • Regular instructor on nonprofit financial topics through Duke University’s Nonprofit Management Program, for continuing education programs for CPAs, and at conferences.
  • Board member and volunteer in the nonprofit community and the accounting profession.

  • Served as Finance Manager at a large nonprofit healthcare policy organization, auditor at a large national accounting firm, Director of Operations at a local arts organization, and at other community organizations.
  • As a volunteer board member, has held positions as Treasurer and Board Chair.
  • Expertise in budgeting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, cost allocations, and accounting systems design and management.
  • Specializes in nonprofit tax reporting, general ledger accounting, and hands-on training in accounting functions and QuickBooks software.
